Like !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I'm a big fan of the E60. I've now had it 6 months, three of which were spent getting pretty much a total engine rebuild (buy the warranty, kids!), and I'm still completely smitten, even though I don't like the grey interior as much as the black ones, don't like the light silver as much as the darker colors and metallics, and the fact that I'm averaging about 18.5 MPG.

I'd argue that it's the single most influential design of the last decade. I wasn't crazy about it when I first saw it back in 2003, although I did say at the time that it had the most elegant bodyside section I could think of. Fast-forward 10 years, and there I am buying one. It's still damn fine-looking, and now that I know a lot more than I did 10 years ago, I get why they did so many of the things that I didn't understand then. Even the headlights make sense. BMW was just way ahead of upcoming regulations, and it took everyone else years to catch up. And too few cars out there have an unbroken line from headlight to taillight, which I think goes a long, long way to making a car look elegant.

I used to appreciate it. Now I'm getting pretty damn close to loving it.

Thanks for listening.

Me too. I much prefer it to the new one. The new ones look too bloated.

I agree. Most folks didn't like these because they were such a drastic change from the E39, but I think they're reserved and great looking. They've aged very well. I like them far better than the F10's we've got now.

My old boss had a Black M5 V10 and it was FANTASTIC! I've always been a sucker for V10's in general(no real reason why) so pretty much anytime I would see a vehicle that had a V10 it was almost like instant boner.

I love the e60, especially the e60 m5. I think they're the perfect combination sports sedan, while the new one feels like a Mercedes (except the f10 m5, those are insane). I'd love to have one for an around town car.

I see a couple around town, one of which is wrapped in matte black. It's pretty bonkers.

I've never hated the Bangle cars, looks wise. I'm not sure why he got so much grief for his stylings

He got grief for a lot of reasons, but I respect the hell out of what he achieved. I'm pretty disappointed that BMW's gone back to the same-sausage-different-length school of design with the F generation cars.
